— Ajibade, Others Laud Accountants’ Integrity, Urge Ethical Conduct in Service
The Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN) and the Professional Women Accountants in Nigeria (PROWAN), Rufus Giwa Polytechnic (RUGIPO) Chapter, have joined their counterparts across the world to commemorate the 2025 International Accounting Day, celebrated annually on November 10.
The globally recognised day celebrates the often-unsung heroes behind the financial stability of businesses, governments, and institutions. It highlights the vital role accountants play in promoting transparency, accountability, compliance, and informed decision-making across all sectors.
In a joint goodwill message, the ANAN Coordinator, Mr. Olaleye, Y. O., and the PROWAN Coordinator, Mrs. Asubiojo, V. B., congratulated all practising accountants within and outside the Polytechnic, describing them as “financial stewards” whose integrity and diligence continue to uphold sound financial systems and institutional credibility.
According to them, accountants remain indispensable to the growth and stability of the economy, particularly in ensuring transparency, discipline, and fiscal prudence in both public and private organisations.
“Accountants are the backbone of financial credibility and sustainability. Their expertise ensures that organisations like ours remain accountable, transparent, and growth-driven,” the coordinators stated.
Reaffirming their commitment to the ideals of the profession, both associations pledged to continue promoting excellence through continuous professional development, cutting-edge education, and capacity building aimed at equipping members for the dynamic demands of the global economy.
In the same vein, Mr. Samuel Oriade Ajibade, FCA, Deputy Bursar of Rufus Giwa Polytechnic and former Chairman of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), Akure District, felicitated with all accountants within and beyond the Polytechnic community.
Ajibade urged members of the profession to consistently uphold the principles of integrity, accountability, and stewardship in their daily practice, stressing that their conduct must always reflect the noble standards of the accounting profession.
“As accountants, we are custodians of trust. Let us serve with integrity and in ways that will not be inimical to our profession, knowing that ultimately, we shall all render account to God,” he admonished.
The leadership of ANAN and PROWAN further commended accounting professionals within Rufus Giwa Polytechnic for their unwavering commitment to professionalism, ethical conduct, and their contributions to the institution’s financial stability and sustainable development.
